took the tater to the fire museum the other day and i just about fell in love with the vintage engines and fonts and colors.

didn't expect to fall apart internally at the 9/11 memorial exhibit but the sight of salvaged FDNY equipment and airplane parts and everything still covered in ash and debris pretty much tore open all the psychic wounds, like 9 years haven't passed.

we walked around tribeca afterwards, and the city streets were empty and quiet and i remembered why this is my favorite part of new york (besides brooklyn). Hidden ancient alleys, cobblestone streets, historic townhouses, and the gorgeous, unfuckwithable backdrop of the Woolworth building ... down there it always looks like the 1850's, in the best possible way.

If we had money, we'd totally live there when we grow up.
