Last night, I walked home from Ruby's house during the downpour and there were so many people outside caught in it and soaked to the bone that immediately, you could just feel the solidarity.

I stopped at the corner of St. Mark's, waiting for the light, and two girls were standing there already, drenched.

We look over at each other and immediately broke into a fit of giggles.

There is something so utterly ridiculous about standing completely soaking wet in the street with other completely soaking wet strangers.

I remarked to these girls that at that moment, we all knew what everyone looked like in the shower. Except with clothes on.

And there was a sort of vulnerability and awesomeness about that fact that I can't explain.
